There is no denying that Dutch turbine Laidback Luke has truly established a name for himself. His dynamic fusion of hyper-drive-house-step & ghetto-jack-trance-bass is the sound of now and has been for the past decade – and there is no sign of it slowing down!
Born in the Philippines and raised in Holland, Luke van Scheppingen, aka Laidback Luke, without a doubt is the reference point of the dance scene for thousands of clubbers these days. Blasting your speakers with blockbuster beats, stirring things up with his hybrid house styles and his unlimited energy, brightly results in both stunning live sets and ongoing anticipated studio hits. The Dutch heavy weight house master is loved all over the globe: his Super You&Me events sell out wherever it goes to and he keeps being ranked in the Top echelon s of the (in)famous and by-all-means-wanted TOP 100 DJ lists.

His latest productions and collaborations featured artists such as Wynter Gordon, Martin Solveig, Chuckie, Example, Norman Doray and Arno Cost. Luke’s remixes have also had their highlights with Madonna’s – Gimme All Your Luvin’, Chris Lake’s – Sundown and a rework of Alice Deejays – Better of Alone. Performing and producing relentlessly and innovating musically as an artist like nobody else, tracks like "Show Me Love", "Step By Step", "Hey", IDMA winning "Leave The World Behind", "Till Tonight", "Natural Disaster", "Turbulence" and "Speak Up" have become all-time favorites on the dance floors.Laidback Luke’s exposure rate has increased drastically on the back of his North American “Speak Up” bus Tour earlier this year. His seven-week tour brought Laidback Luke and his Mixmash cohorts Oliver Twizt and GTA to cities of all sizes. Never one to shy away from an edgier sound, Laidback Luke injected a high dose of energy to “Speak Up” with a stomping build-up throughout the first half of the track that leads to a softer, suspenseful melody, supported by Wynter Gordon's vocals. Luke launches into another intense, aggressive build up to see the track through to the end. After “Speak Up” Laidback Luke created another heavyweight anthem to knock everyone down. The massive production “1234”, with Chuckie and Martin Solveig on vocals, has become a club favourite in no time! This tune comes with a quirky video which was viewed more then 50.000 times in the first 24 hours. Luke’s own Mixmash Records keeps on launching one hit after another! In the best tradition of the label, the tunes on Mixmash Records are remarkable, powerful and fresh. Mixmash is a breeding ground and launching platform for young talent, but is also known for its smashing club bangers for all dance floors.

Next to his busy schedule Luke still finds time to give the next generation of music makers a leg-up through his forum, at www.laidbackluke.com. He’s got over 300,000 followers on Twitter, receives 12GB+ of promos every week, and boards more than 160 flights a year – without breaking a sweat. Sure his name is Laidback, however when the music’s blasted through speakers he is anything but relaxed! So what more can the new decade bring for our revolutionary rebel? Well, with the crazy energy that he conveys and the martial arts that he practices, rest assured it will be out of this world. Yes, our fresh-faced superhero has good ‘kung fu’, always keeping an ear to the ground while his creativity rockets skyward. Luke, we salute you!

"Punching well above his years, D.O.D is standing on the edge of becoming an international sensation within club circles. Already finding plaudits among Tiesto, Laidback Luke, David Guetta, Eddie Halliwell, Steve Aoki and Hardwell, his fresh faced beats stalwart has also managed to secure himself a residency with Mixmag for their club and Ibiza tours.
With a DJ style that can only be deemed as inimitable, in-your-face turntable wizardry, D.O.D has managed to secure a wide cross section of fans with his music – which sets about fusing the lines between everything House, Electro, Progressive and Techno.
But whilst his work ethic is familiar of yesteryears hard craft approach, his technical ability is certainly more forward moving. Positioning his musical style as ‘Jump-Up Big Room House’, he utilises 3-4 CDJ’S, DJM900 and an RMX-1000, alongside his own personal edits and bootlegs, to great effect – citing the likes of QBert, DJ Yoda and Grandmaster Flash as inspiration for his style of play. This approach to the art of DJing has led him to share the stage with a whopping ensemble of peek time performers in the past 12 months alone.
With his producing career already off to a flying start, D.O.D can already boast a Beatport No.1 best selling Electro EP 'More Cowbell'. The EP did the damage worldwide, after being signed by the one and only Laidback Luke. Previous tracks from D.O.D’s debut EP also made it onto the ‘Pacha Future Dance’ compilation album. Over the past 12 months D.O.D has released two singles on Steve Aoki’s ‘Dim Mak Records’ which both climbed to the top 30 in Beatport. D.O.D toured with Steve Aoki in Europe, playing events like Tomorrowland to name a few. More recently, D.O.D has remixed Laidback Luke, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike's club smasher 'MORE' which is available July 29th.
Over the course of the next few months his schedule is packed with a string of white-hot club dates UK and internationally including Cream Ibiza, Life In Color Australia, Mint Festival in Leeds, Mandella Hall Belfast, Digital in Newcastle and many more. Not only is his tour diary packed out, but also his studio time. With a huge list of unreleased material just waiting to explode on the scene and a list of upcoming collaborations with the likes of Angger Dimas, Deorro, Jacob Van Hage and Beltek It’s all a great sign for the 25 year old artist.
With enough tricks to keep the eyes as transfixed as the ears, it’s no wonder the world of rave can’t stop their clamour for him. Dance music is at its most potent when all about fresh, hungry and talented youth, and D.O.D represents that lust for measured abandon brilliantly. The dance floor may never be the same again…"
