Exclusive L.E.D. Interview with Moguai

L.E.D. had the opportunity to interview the one and only MOGUAI ahead of his show at Voyeur on July 10th, 2010. Without further ado, here are some answers for curious and inquiring minds:

L.E.D.: How long have you been on Mau5trap records and how did your signing to the label come about?

Moguai: I thought that the sound i produce at the moment would fit to mau5trap, so i sent over some tracks to his management last summer, and Joel liked them. Some releases later on i had the album in my hands, and i said "It's mau5trap, or nobody else!". Fortunately they answered only a week later and said that they would love to do it.

L.E.D.: What remixes are you currently working on?

Moguai: I have recently finished a remix for Moonbeam, the track is called "Song for girl" and will be released on Tiesto's Black Hole Recordings. Currently i am working on a remix for Gareth Emery and also for Michael Wood's next release. He has also done a remix for my next release "Oyster" on mau5trap, massive 🙂

L.E.D.: What are some of your favorite old school records?

Moguai: CJ Bolland – Camargue, Ken Ishi – Extra, The Rising Sons – Afghan Acid or Cybordelics – Nighthorse. Good memories 🙂

L.E.D.: Artist on the lookout for in the near future?

Moguai: I´ve signed some fresh faces, "Rebels Without A Cause" to my label Punx. Their first EP was released this month, you def should check them out!

L.E.D.: First dance record you ever got into?

Moguai: Puh, so long ago, i can't even remember 😉

L.E.D.: What are you most looking forward to in the near future?

MoguaiPlaying in San Diego, and the US in general will be great! Really looking forward to that!

L.E.D.: Favorite festival?

Moguai: I am looking forward to "Nature One" and "Sonne Mond & Sterne" this summer. Both take place in Germany and it will be the first time i play live on such a big event!

L.E.D.: Who are some of the artists you've been collaborating with and will do collaborationswith in the future?

Moguai: I´ve teamed up with legendary Westbam for a track, we are both very happy with the result, but there is no release date yet.
